At the Store, Buy One More-Drop Box this Wednesday!

This Wednesday Julie and I will have a table at the Saratoga Farmers' Market doing a demonstration for moms and kids on how to make a healthy snack using market ingredients, plus Wednesday's market is going to be dedicated to kids and eating local with a kids scavenger hunt around the market! We also will have our first At the Store, Buy One More Campaign drop box, wrapped in hot pink Mamatoga paper, to collect school supplies for our campaign benefiting the Franklin Community Center and Project Lift. There are all kinds of sales out there right now for school supplies, and I want to do a quick round-up of deals you can snap up for yourself and for our campaign! Over at Target they have a sale on Five Star 1-subject notebooks for only $1, Sharpie highlighters for only $1, FREE 24-ct. RoseArt crayons with purchase of one RoseArt 10-ct. markers or 12-ct. colored pencils, 24 count up & up pencils for 90 cents, RoseArt glue for only TWENTY CENTS and 2 count up & up kids scissors for only 90 cents, and much much more. Staples has school supplies starting at ONE PENNY! They're selling two pocket folders for one cent, and have free ballpoint pens deals and Sharpies for a quarter. Walgreens has dry erase markers, one of the top items on our list, for only $1.99, and filler paper, notebooks, pens and highlighters for only 99 cents. Toys R Us has buy one get one free on ALL Crayola crayons, pencils, markers and dry erase markers. The Franklin Community Center and the kids at Project Lift can use any school supplies you want to donate, and even one or two items can make a difference for a child right here in our own city. Remember, ALL of these supplies go to students in the Saratoga Springs City School District, so these are kids that are in the same classrooms as your own kids. As moms, we can't help but want to look out for each other's kids as well as our own, so here is an opportunity to do just that. So when you are out school shopping and see one of these awesome deals, please think of picking up an extra one for our donation box. The impact you make will be one that is felt right here in our very own schools. We will be collecting, as I said, at the Wednesday market this coming Wednesday, August 10th from 3-6pm and donations are also accepted at the Franklin Community Center at 10 Franklin Street from 10am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. Let's all buy one more at the store and make this campaign a successful one for the kids in our great city!
