  • Saratoga Hospital - The Nutrition Kitchen: Eating Healthy On-The-Go!  Having trouble finding time to eat healthy with the hustle and bustle of busy schedules?  Join Kerry Hardy at 12pm in the Board Room and learn tips and tricks on how to pack delicious, quick snacks that will curb your cravings, add nutritional value to your diet, and save you time.  Free but please register online, or call 580-2450.
  • Stroller Strides – Meet at 9:30 for a power walk with your child in tow.  Check their facebook page for where to meet!
  • Children’s Museum - Wiggle and Giggle from 10-11:30.  Free with admission.  A time for children to explore the many different things that they can do with their bodies! We will crawl through tunnels, walk the balance beam, roll balls, toss bean bags, and make music with all kinds of instruments. Drop in anytime between 10:00am and 11:30am to meet new friends and get some exercise!
  • Military Spouse Vendor’s Fair – Gazebo located at Dolphin Terrace and Bay Drive, Saratoga Springs, from 4-6pm.  (Rain location is the Balfour Beatty Communities Office at 26 Quiet Harbor Drive.)  We invite everyone to come by and support your local military spouses, see all the great new products being offered, enter to win a raffle, enjoy some snacks, and mingle. Vendors will be here to give out catalogs, showcase their product and maybe even have some giveaways.  Avon, Scentsy,  Gold Canyon Candles, Handmade Crafts, Music Lessons, Pampered Chef, Photography, Premier Designs Jewelry, Thirty One Gifts, And more…
  • Lord’s Acre Fair – 10am – 8pm.  Today and tomorrow at the Burnt Hills United Methodist Church, 816 Route 50, Burnt Hills, NY.  Entertainment, special events and activities for all ages. The church will also have booths that include food, plants, vegetables, cheese, needlework, white elephant items, books, and a consignment table. Fun for everyone!  Tonight enjoy a Bar-b-q dinner from 4:30 to 7:30pm.
  • At the YMCA Saratoga Springs Branch from 6 to 9pm is the Fall Zumbathon! Everyone is welcome! The cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. You may register online or at any of our branch front desks. Proceeds benefit our scholarship fund! Don't miss the fun!

Saturday Preview:

  • This Saturday, celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson will host a “Kids Cooking Revolution" at the Saratoga Wine and Food and Fall Ferrari Festival. It will be a fun, interactive cooking class to teach children how to prepare healthy, kid-friendly meals. This is the first time SPAC has presented an event for children as part of the festival. Tickets for the hour-long demo are $10 for kids, $20 for adults; proceeds will benefit classical programming at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
  • Saratoga State Park – 5 for Five, Race for a Cure.  Race begins at the Warming Hut in scenic Saratoga Springs State Park and continues through the trails and park paths with mile markers and water stations. Don’t want to run? That’s okay, walkers are welcome. Register online.
  • Kingswood Golf Course – 2011 SunKiss Balloon Festival from 6am to 7pm.  There will be family activities and fun for all ages throughout the day. Each morning at the Kingswood Golf Course will begin with a 30 hot air balloon mass accession including 4 special shaped hot air balloons! Check out or special shapes to decide which will be your favorite!  Free for all.
  • Lowes Build and Grow – 10am, Take your child to Lowes and build a cool police car, complete with stickersand flashing lights. This is free and easy to register online.
  • Wilton Wildlife Preserve – Monarch Butterfly Walk.  Join them for a nature walk with the Monarch butterflies.  The walk covers about a mile of gently rolling terrain.  Looking for the butterflies during their peak season just before they start to head to Mexico for the winter.  The monarch butterflies love WWPP for its many nectar species and its open pine/oak savannah.   • Wilton Wildlife Preserve – Pond Exploration!  What is the difference between a dragonfly and a damselfly?  If you’re not sure, stop by Delegan Pond to learn about the dragonfly and damselfly life cycles as well as the pond ecosystem. After the 20-minute lesson, we will explore for critters in our pond using dip nets. This program is for children 4 years old and older.  From 11-12pm at the Delegan Pond.  Click here for directions.
