Thursday, December 15th

  • There is an Outdoor Scavenger Hunt going on at the Saratoga Spa State Park from 11-12:30.  Enjoy some fresh air and visit Spa Park for a scavenger hunt! A list will be given to every participant, but make sure to bring your creative side.   All ages are welcome, registration is required. Fee is $3 per person or $5 per family.   • Silly Science: Dinosaurs is at the Children's Museum at 10:30am.
  • The Saratoga Springs Library has their Books and Tea Library Reading Group at 3:30pm.  Meet to discuss Mr. Ives’ Chistmas.  They also have Monthly Mixed Media for Teens from 4-5pm.  Video Game Design Lab for Teens is from 7-8:30pm.
  • Blues greats Annie Raines and Paul Rishell have appeared on Conan O’Brien, Prairie Home Companion and PBS and have toured the world. “While their guitar, harmonica, and vocals are roiling, muscular, and masterful, their shows are down home-friendly and fun-loving.” They will be at the Saratoga Springs Library at 7:30pm.
  • The Red Confetti Art Studio has Little Artist Discovery from 10-11am.  Perfect for 2-4 year olds. $8 includes all materials.  Call 583-7111 to reserve your spot.

Friday, December 16th

  • Check out Wiggle and Giggle at the Children's Museum from 10-11:30am and 2:30-4pm.  Scavenger Hunt Friday.
  • The Spa Little Theater has The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.  7:30pm. This magical and mysterious tale follows the adventures of four children who emerge out of a magical wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten land of Narnia, a world of mythical creatures. On their journey the children meet Tumnus, a friendly faun, Aslan, the great and powerful lion, and the evil White Witch. This story of love, faith, courage and generosity, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.  Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children.
  • Go! World Awareness Museum in Glens Falls is offering Homeschool Fridays: Art of the Samurai from 10-11:30 am.  Join artist Kimberly Leahey to learn about Bushido, the way of life of the Japanese Samurai. Using watercolors, participants will paint in the style of the Samurai

Saturday, December 17th

  • Moreau State Park is having a Holiday & Winter Craft from 10-12pm.  The Friends of Moreau Lake State Park are hosting a holiday and winter craft for kids. There will be people to help your child with crafts as well as serving refreshments. $5 per child.
  • Children’s Museum - Story Art from 10:30-11am.

  • The Tang Museum at Skidmore College has Family Saturdays from 2-3:30pm.  The programs include a brief tour followed by a hands-on art activity, with all materials provided.  Free and open to the public.

Sunday, December 18th

  • National Museum of Dance - Figures in Flight Performance from 1-3pm.  This event will be a performance by students of Geyser Road Elementary School and Lake Avenue Elementary School in Saratoga Springs after Figures in Flight completes residencies with both schools. The “Attention on Attention” program taught by Susan Slotnik is aimed at helping children learn to focus, to understand themselves and the world around them.
