SO much fun stuff to do this weekend! Snowshoeing, family story time, an ice fishing clinic for kids, a preschool open house and much more! Friday, Jan. 27th

  • Today at the Saratoga Springs Public Library is Library Babies from 10:30am  -  12pm. This is an informal playgroup for babies under 24 months with a parent or caregiver. No registration necessary. The first 15 minutes on Fridays will include fingerplays, rhymes and simple books presented by a librarian. Group meets Fridays, 1/20 through 5/11 (except for 2/24, 4/6 and 4/13.)
  • Moreau lake is frozen so join the park educator today at Moreau Lake State Park from 10am-12:30pm on a hike around the lake to look and listen to the sights and sounds, this walk is sure to be an adventure! Registration is required, call (518) 793-0511 for more information.

Saturday, Jan. 28th

  • Today from 9:30-noon is the grand opening of The Wonder Room in Ballston Lake! Check out all the info on this great new place for kids to learn and explore here!

  • Looking for a new way to exercise in winter? Come to Spa Park to learn how to snowshoe today from 11am-12:30pm! In this Learn to Snowshoe class, participants will practice putting on the snowshoes before learning how to walk on a short, flat loop around the park. This program costs $5 per person with snowshoe rental. This program is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Please call (518) 584-2000 ext 116 to register. This program will be cancelled if there is no snow.

  • Also at the Saratoga Library is Saturday Family Story Time from 11:30am  -  12pm. For children ages 2 to 5 years, with a parent or caregiver. Siblings welcome, too!  No registration necessary.
  • There is an Ice Fishing Clinic for KIDS today from 10-2pm today at Moreau Lake State Park! Ever wonder how to ice fish? Come on down to Moreau for a lesson. No equipment needed participants will get a pole in their hand and maybe even reel up a fish or two! Registration is required, call (518) 793-0511 for more information.
  • Today at The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls check out The YOU Collection! Their Saturday Morning Workshop for Ages 6-14 from 10:30am-noon. What do you collect? Cat figures? Rocks? Cars? Bring objects from your collection and create a still-life drawing or painting with your collection as the model in the Art Studio. Admission is FREE.   • Today from 2-4pm is The Hyde Celebrates! Event Program Lecture and Book Signing! A Museums of One’s Own: Private Collecting, Public Gift.
