what I'm doing this weekend...

FRIDAY: First up, the Idiots have a Fryday Tryday challenge for you and I totally want to go try it. Dodge the rain and head over to the EatGoodFood Truck!

Bourbon bar, live music and art? Yes please!

It's Family Night at SPAC tonight with the Philadelphia Orchestra! The program will be featuring violinist Arabella Steinbacher and conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Sponsored by CDPHP, SPAC’s “Family Nights” are the most popular pre-show event!  Come early from 6-8pm and enjoy strolling magicians, chalk contests, games and FREE Stewart’s ice cream before enjoying a stunning performance of The Philadelphia Orchestra. While you’re there check out the “Smile Zone” from Pediatric Dentistry of Glens Falls! Families can get their picture taken by a SPAC photographer which will be emailed to them or they can jump in the photo booth provided by Saratoga Photo Booth Company! Plus Pediatric Dentistry of Glens Falls has goodie bags for every kid through the door with a toothbrush, flossers, stickers, tattoos, balloons and more. At their booth they also have a bunch of great kids stuff with color changing pencils, magnets and much more! And TONIGHT ONLY all Lawn Seat ticket holders can get entry into the amphitheater, so don't worry about any rain that might fall! Simply present your lawn ticket to an usher and they will show you to your seats!

Post SPAC head to Mixtapes & Mixology with DJ Dragonette at Max London's, definitely the most fun to be had on a Friday night. Starting at 10pm, if you miss it Friday you can also catch him on Saturday too...

Also on Friday (and with performances on Saturday and Sunday) catch the final weekend of American Soup! To get all the info on this great show and to purchase tickets, click right here.

This Saturday at the Saratoga Farmers' Market there will be a FREE Cooking Class by Chef David Pedinotti from Mouzon House! At 10:15 come to the shed and shop with chef Dave Pedinotti, then go to the tent set up with a BlueStar stove (thanks to Mamatoga fave Adirondack Appliance) and see what Dave can do with market ingredients! The finale is a Taste Test!

We'll be heading en famille to the track early on Saturday to catch all the race action from Turf Terrace!

I LOVE the Cardboard Boat Races at Hudson Crossing Park! Get ALL the info you need on their 8th Annual Race right here, including updates and rain date status right here. ***POSTPONED TILL SUNDAY*** Same time, same place.

Also on Saturday head to the Family Music Festival at Shenantaha Creek Park in Malta. Today is the LAST DAY to enter their Idol Competition! Come enjoy a full day of entertainment. There will be Bands playing all day, the Idol Competition, Face Painting, Bouncy Houses, food and much more. Money raised will go toward Family First Always to help prevent teen pregnancy in the Capital Region.

Saturday night at SPAC is the fantastic family event Oz with Orchestra! This unique multi-media performance combines the full-length movie screening of the Wizard of Oz on SPAC’s oversized cinema screens, accompanied by The Orchestra playing the live music score from the movie, such a fantastic way to experience this classic family film! I love it! And guess what? It's also a GE Kids in Free performance!

I'll be switching gears and heading to the fabulous Song and Dance Gala at the National Museum of Dance with the Toga Tattlers on Saturday night. Ben Vereen will be inducted as the 48th inductee into the Mr. & Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Hall of Fame that evening! He will also be performing an exclusive unforgettable show, I can't wait!

Sunday means two things to me in the summer, brunch and polo! Follow Saratoga Polo on twitter here and on facebook here to stay in the loop on any rain cancellations. Matches are scheduled this weekend for Friday night and Sunday night starting at 5:30.
