There is no school for public schools in Saratoga on Wednesday for Yom Kippur, if you are looking for something to do with the kids here is the round-up for the goings-on around town: First up, at the Saratoga Springs Public Library:
- From 9:30 to 9:50am it's Toddler Story Time. This interactive program is designed to foster a love of stories, as well as encourage the development of pre-literacy skills. Children ages 24-42 months and their parent or caregiver will be introduced to stories, rhymes, and songs that they can enjoy together. (there's a second one from 11-11:20 too)
- From 10:15-10:45 it's Preschool Story Time. A children's librarian will read aloud, offering stories and visuals that will help build your preschooler's vocabulary and spark their imaginations. Children ages 42 months-5 years will enjoy, learn, and develop emerging literacy skills through this popular story time program. Call 518-584-7860 for more info.
The Wonder Room in Ballston Lake is open from 12:30-3pm for drop-in play and creative art.
At the Children's Museum at Saratoga:
Alphabet Soup is from 10:30 - 11am
Watercolor Leaves is from 1-2:30pm
Story Art goes from 2-2:30pm

Finding Nemo 3D is playing at Wilton Regal Cinemas at 1:10, 3:50 and 6:40.
At Regal Clifton Park, The Odd Life of Timothy Green is playing at 1:20, 3:15, 6:25 and 9:10 and Finding Nemo 3D is playing there at 1:30, 4:00, 6:40 and 9:20.

At Saratoga Spa State Park they're having Campfire Cooking at 5pm. Learn the basics of campfire building, cooking and safety at this workshop. Learn different campfire building techniques with the park naturalist, then help prepare a recipe and cook it over the open flame. Class space is limited and is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Registration is required. Fee is $5 per person. Please call 518-584-2000 ext. 150 to register.

Don't forget about the classic day off from school activity, fort building. Here's a few tips in case you need any. I think we might tackle our first Dangerous Book for Boys project, making a bow and arrow. First step is finding the right wood for the bow so a hike might be in order.
