  • On Monday, Jan 28th check out the Beagle School Open House from10:30am-12:30pm at the Beagle School, 115 Regent Street in Saratoga Springs. Stop by to learn more about their 3- and 4-year-old programs. All prospective families are welcome to tour the classroom and meet their director and program teachers.
  • Also on Monday check out Preschool Pioneers at Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park at 11am. Admission is free for this once-a-month series of lessons that will help young nature-lovers with their numbers, colors, and shapes while doing fun games and nature crafts. This month they will be creating birdfeeders for our feathered friends using peanut butter and pine cones. Adults are expected to support their children during the program.   • Interested in being a literacy tutor? On Tuesday, Jan 29th check out the New Tutor Orientation for Literacy 2013 from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the Saratoga Springs Public Library. Tutors are again in need in Saratoga County for our literacy program and have scheduled 2 New Tutor Orientations to recruit tutors. Literacy volunteer tutors work with adults who wish to improve their reading, writing, and/or math skills, study for the GED, or learn English. For more information call 518-583-1232.
  • Wilton Wildlife's: Nature's Homeschoolers (5-8 grade) is on Tuesday, Jan 29th from 2-3:30pm at Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park: Camp Saratoga. This once-a-month series of lessons is designed to supplement homeschool curriculum with nature-based science. Lessons include hands-on activities and information about the plants and animals found in the Saratoga Sand Plains. This month's lesson will focus on animal tracking and will take place outside for the entire lesson, please come prepared. If there is snow, they will do this walk on snowshoes; they will be available free for members or $3/pair for non-members.  Please arrive at Parking Lot 1 early so we can begin the program at 2PM.   • Sesame Street Live ''Elmos Super Heroes'' is coming to Glens Falls Civic Center from Tuesday, Jan 29th until Wednesday, Jan 30th.When Super Grover loses his superness, Sesame Street needs a hero! Never fear, Elmo and his team of super heroes are here. Teaching lessons of healthy habits through song and dance, Elmo, Abby Cadabby and your favorite Sesame Street friends will explore exercise, nutrition, sleep/ energy and hygiene – all in a quest to put the “super” back in Super Grover.   • On Friday, Feb 1st come to the 2nd Annual MDA Food and Wine Tasting at D'Andreas Liquor, on the corner of Washington and West Ave from 4-7pm. Sample delicious food and great wines to make your Superbowl party a smash! The event is free to attend, and proceeds will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and will help send kids to MDA Summer Camp, fund the MDA Clinic at Albany Medical Center, support research, and many other programs to help people with Muscular Dystrophy. Friday kicks off WINTERFEST 2013!

  • Healthy Living Market will be sponsoring FREE yoga classes at Hot Yoga Saratoga (the Saratoga location), Friday February 1st at 9:30am is a Free Bikram class AND a free kids class at the same time (9:30am) at the One Yoga Studio right next door! I will be teaching this special kids class for little ones aged 3-5. You can drop the kids off and try out Bikram for free! Saturday at 8am is a free Hour of Power class at One Yoga Saratoga.
