Last weekend I had the pleasure of doing a special Halloween story time at Northshire Bookstore, and I wanted to dress up in costume without having to really "dress up" too much. I've always loved Day of the Dead makeup but I am like totally hopeless when it comes to makeup (and hair). Enter Jeannette Ernst, makeup artist and hairstylist, who came to my rescue and created this gorgeous, fun look that I absolutely loved. All I did was give her an idea (Day of the Dead makeup that wasn't TOO scary looking) and she ran with it. She showed up with rhinestones, glitter, and all kinds of stuff along with tons of photos for inspiration. For my hair she did a beautiful braid (impressively all under a bit of a time constraint at that point, my fault entirely) that went perfectly with the whole look and was exactly what I wanted. Jeannette moved here in February from Georgia with her three kids and her husband, who is in the Navy. Part of what made the whole experience enjoyable was chatting with Jeannette, who is super sweet and a lot of fun. She definitely has a passion for what she does, and it shows. She does it all - cut, color, extensions, keratin straightening systems, makeup and more. The best part? She makes house calls for moms and she always gives 20% off to first time clients. Check out her blog here, and shoot her an email at Jeannette.firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 912-467-1553.
Many thanks to Jeannette for helping me create this unique look, she'll be back at it with me this weekend for an 80s look for a party, stay tuned for some photos of some BIG hair... xoxo
