Hattie's Mardi Gras is definitely one of the best parties of the year. The holidays are over, the winter is feeling long, and this is just the break you need to get you through the doldrums! This event is always on my list and it never disappoints! This year they are raising money for our fabulous Saratoga Hospital's Community Health Center, an important and extremely worthy cause. The festivities kick off at 6pm at Canfield Casino. Pick up a complimentary cocktail during the first hour and sample some amazing traditional Mardi Gras cuisine by Hattie's Chef Jasper Alexander. Be lead into the party by the professional dancers of Northeast Ballet Company and dance the night away to Garland Nelson and Soul Session! Michael Panza and his team from Fine Affairs transforms Canfield Casino with their great decor, and you can peruse a fully stocked silent auction while bumping into friends and snagging some Mardi Gras beads for your photo from Heather Bohm-Tallman of Heather Bohm-Tallman Photography.
Founded by Hattie’s owners Jasper and Beth Alexander in 2001 as a way to support local nonprofits, the annual Mardi Gras event has raised more than $300,000 for various charities since. Previous area organizations that have received proceeds include Shelters of Saratoga, Saratoga YMCA, Saratoga Hospital, Bridges of Saratoga, Saratoga Sponsor a Scholar and SPAC.
Everyone comes out for this party, and it is one of the most fun events of the year. It's a perfect date night, and a great way to give back to the Community Health Center.
