my weekend in photos

The weather is still chilly but at least it was nice and sunny this weekend. We loved the St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt at Saratoga Spa State Park. The kids all got a compass to find clues, and Finn was thrilled to find the final clue that led to the "treasure" a little bag of candy for each of the kids. It was the perfect amount of time outdoors, long enough to get some fresh air and some sunshine but short enough to not have a bunch of freezing kiddos. The warming hut at the park is perfect with its indoor fire pit, and after the hunt the kids all hung out for a bit to draw together while warming up by the fire. Saturday was a mommy and me date since the boys went to a birthday party, and Levy loved Opera Saratoga's performance of Billy Goats Gruff. The kids all sat in the front and the energetic performers interacted with all of them and made the whole thing so fun. If you haven't brought the kids to an Opera Saratoga performance consider taking them to a matinee this season, we went last year and the kids both loved it. Nutella crepes at Ravenous afterward were a huge hit (for both of us) and the rest of the day was spent laying around being lazy, the kids playing dress up and just hanging out.

The Purim carnival was mobbed on Sunday and was the perfect way to expend some energy. Fun was had by all until we had to abruptly abort mission due to an epic toddler meltdown. Jack really wasn't too keen on the idea of having to wait in line for the bouncy castle politely like everyone else. We are still working on that "patience" thing with him, we'll get there eventually...
