I will always admit I'm a big Saratoga nerd, because I really love living in this city. There is always something going on and something to do with the kids, and this past weekend was no exception. We spent most of our time outdoors (finally, after all that rain last week) first at the Saratoga Springs Flag Day Parade, then exploring SaratogaArtsFest with pit stops at the pool at McGregor Links Country Club in between to cool off where Jack ambushed the girls' "fort" and took snacks from every bag there. SaratogaArtsFest is such a great opportunity to get the kids involved in the arts, and in just the space of a few hours we saw dance performances, got to paint, sculpt, draw and create, listened to a performance by the Albany Symphony Orchestra and had some delicious food (Slidin' Dirty and Grasso's Italian Ice is an unbeatable combination). The Flag Day parade was really special as well, to see all those people turn out to watch, waving to friends who were marching, getting to meet "Uncle Sam", plus all the fun in the park afterward. It was a perfect Saratoga Springs afternoon and reminded me how much this city has a true small town heart at it's center. ps Jack was fully buckled into his car seat properly while the car was moving, this was AFTER we got home AND I was still in the car with him. Just saying.
