Rosy Glow Smoothie

girlsgetawayMy newest smoothie obsession also uses one of my favorite beauty obsessions, and you're never gonna guess what it is...

You guys have heard me talk about rose water before, and now I've gone so far into the rosy side that I've even started putting it into my smoothies. Yes.

Used since the time of Cleopatra, rose water is believed to help with everything from stress to allergies, even just the aroma of roses is said to be a powerful mood enhancer. It rids you of feelings of anxiety and promotes emotional well-being, thereby making you feel more relaxed! And seriously who doesn't need a little help with relaxation during the holidays?!

Besides using rose water on your skin on the outside, you can also drink rose water to hydrate the skin from the inside, and rose water is also said to have anti-aging properties to help with skin aging by reducing wrinkles, lightening dark spots and tightening pores.

Feeling a little puffy from the holiday indulgences? Drink rose water to relieve digestion troubles like bloating, upset tummy and constipation, and to relieve fluid retention and inflammation. Finally, rose water can help heal from colds, flu and sore throats and it may have a bronchodilator effect and help with respiratory illness. So, ready to try it? Here's the recipe!

You just need a little of the rose water to go a long way and it has a beautifully delicate, sweet aroma. To pick some up locally, find it at Healthy Living Market and Cafe in Saratoga Springs. You can also find all of these ingredients at Healthy Living Market and Cafe too (including the frozen acai packets!).
