Saratoga Springs Lip Dub

So the Chamber of Commerce decided to hire the company Lip Dub to film a commercial for Saratoga Springs, and all the wonderful things to do in this city.  I was amazed at the turnout all along Broadway and in Congress Park to help in this endeavor.  There must have been over 300 people in the park,  and Broadway was all gussied up with different store fronts displaying their wares.  Members of the Victorian stroll carolers were dressed in their costumes parading across Broadway, and everything about Saratoga was accounted for.  They had horses (rodeo, jockey and polo), a bride and groom, colonial figures, politicians, musicians, and of course, the residents.  We all took our place in Congress Park and learned a few moves and the unforgettable na-na-na-na-na of Train's, "Lights of Jupiter."  When the camera began rolling and speeding it's way down Congress Street into the park, our leader began singing the song, and we all stood behind him waving our arms and singing along to the music.  What a rush!!  It was so neat seeing so many people from our community joining together for this festive occasion.    All told, we spent about 2 hours filming about 3 "takes", but it was so fun!!  I actually moved over by the Ben & Jerry's ice cream stand for the 2nd and 3rd take, holding my sign and waving with my kids as the camera crew spun in.  My kids wanted to get closer to the action and I wanted to see a little bit more of the whole picture.  Afterwards, the director led us in a "Toga! Toga! Toga!" chant as we all clapped or pumped our fists before cheering for the success of the video.  It was a lot of fun, and we get to see the finished product at the City Center on September 27th from 6-8 pm.  So if you were there, or even if you weren't, and want to see the commercial that will send thousands of vacationers to our fine city, then meet us there!  I can't wait to see it all put together.  [slideshow]
