On Thursday December 20th at One Yoga Saratoga I will be teaching my regular kids yoga class, but this class will be a special one because all of the proceeds will go to the Noah's Ark of Hope Fund, set up by the family of 6 year old Noah Pozner, one of the victims at Sandy Hook Elementary. Reading about Noah really hit home for me. He turned 6 just two days after Finn did. He couldn't wait to read a new Ninjago book he had just bought at a book fair at school, Finn had just bought the same book at a book fair a couple weeks ago. He loved Super Mario, playing Wii, he was excited about going to a birthday party that would have taken place last Saturday.
I want to do something, however much that I can, to help out this family. Bring your kids aged 4-9, and each $10 donation per child will go directly to the Noah's Ark of Hope Fund, an irrevocable trust specifically for Noah's surviving siblings, two of whom were also in the school that day, in different classrooms.
The funds will be used to provide counseling services, education and basic needs for the children at this time of grief. Noah leaves behind his twin sister and three other siblings, and is the youngest victim in this horrible tragedy.
At the yoga class we dance, learn poses, put on yoga plays, build little obstacle courses using our mats, have nice long savasanas, whatever the kids are up for. No experience is necessary, kids just need a mat, which can be rented at the studio. Space will be limited to 20 kids so if you want to make sure you have a spot call them up at 518-587-YOGA (9642). Looking forward to seeing you
