over the river and through the wood

grandmas1 It was a busy couple of weeks for me recently, finishing up the Holiday Issue of Mamatoga Magazine. This is my third independently produced magazine, and my good friend and graphic designer Jake Van Ness and I have a fun (and sometimes crazy) time sitting here at my dining room table putting it all together, which is how I spent the overwhelming majority of my weekend. I absolutely love what I do, and I can't wait to share this latest issue with you guys on November 15th.

In the meantime, I'll be taking a tiny bit of a break. For the first time in over three years I will be taking more than one day off to visit Iowa (for a whole WEEK!), where my father grew up, to celebrate my Grandma Witte's 90th birthday. Just typing those words almost brings tears to my eyes, since my Grandma Witte is one of the most special, kindest, most sweet hearted people I have ever known, and to be able to be with her as she celebrates this incredible milestone is something that I will cherish always. I will get to see cousins I haven't seen in years and years, my brother Chris whom I haven't seen since that last vacation I took, and many other family members and relatives that I haven't seen in way too long.

I'll be taking Mamatoga on the road for the next week, so stay tuned for some adventures from our travels! xoxo
