Local Pick Your Own Strawberries Guide 2015

pickyourown Strawberry picking season starts in June with some local spots opening up this Saturday! There are a bunch of local places perfect for picking, here is a listing of some of the close by places for pick your own. Be sure to call ahead to make sure they are still picking that day as sometimes they run out of crops. We visited Hand Melon Farm for strawberry picking last year (see the photos below) and had such a great time, with a very kid and family friendly environment.

Whatever recipe you decide to make with all of your freshly picked strawberries, I urge you to make at least one with some homemade whipped cream. There are few summer desserts better than a slice of angel food or pound cake, a dollop of homemade whipped cream and some fresh strawberries…xoxo

***These terms refer to the application of pesticides, if there is no information next to the orchard listed that doesn't necessarily mean they do or do not use spray, please contact those places for specific spray questions.
