A local company that incorporates the spirit of giving into their regular business model has something extra special in the bag for the holiday season—and it will have two lucky families giving their regards to Broadway for the New Year! Locally owned Twill, a company founded by brothers Zac and Jer Halloran and long-time friend Jac Lombardo, began in a dusty basement just two years ago in honor of their brother who suffers from a complex mental health diagnosis. Twill manufactures 100-percent American made, organic cotton blankets and totes with a unique Buy 1 Give 1 Philosophy: For every Twill blanket or tote that is purchased, one is given to a child in need. The idea behind the company is that blankets offer an element of security and inspiration for individuals during difficult times. Dozens of organizations known as “Blanket Buddies” are available to choose as possible recipients.
And while giving back is part of the company’s every day philosophy, they’re stepping things up for the holidays with their #12DaysofTwill initiative and “Twill Ticket” contest. Thanks to local sponsors KeyBank and Yankee Trails, a lucky family of four will win a trip to New York City with bus transportation to see the Broadway production of The Lion King. But as an added bonus, and to tie in with their company’s ongoing mission, a family of four who have a child being treated at Albany Medical Center will be provided with the same arrangements.
The contest begins November 30 and ends December 11. Participants can enter the contest online through the company’s website mytwill.com, and anyone who makes a purchase during that window will automatically be entered and could also be chosen at random as the winner of the “Twill Ticket”.
While there is no purchase necessary to win, the Twill Team does hope people will consider Twill’s products ideal holiday gifts, with their “Buy 1 Give 1” philosophy naturally weaved in.
“As a company, it is our mission to give back and help our local community with every purchase that is made, but then we thought, why couldn’t we do even more? We hope this provides a little respite for two families in spirit of the holiday season. I absolutely love the show and know they will too,” said Founder and CEO of Twill Zac Halloran.
Philanthropic companies KeyBank and Yankee Trails say sponsoring this contest was an easy decision. They loved the idea of creating a buzz around a unique and generous local business while also providing an expense paid trip for a family going through a difficult time.
“The Tobin Family and Yankee Trails are proud to team up to support Twill during the Holiday Season,” said Erin Tobin.
"KeyBank is happy to support Twill and their efforts to give back to the Capital Region community this holiday season," said Ruth Mahoney, president, Capital Region, KeyBank N.A. "At Key, we are committed to helping our communities thrive, and we applaud Twill's continuing efforts to help those in need."
“Twill Ticket” contest rules and regulations can be found at mytwill.com, as well as a complete product listing and additional company information.
"Building relationships with local organizations that care truly helps our mission. We are grateful for both KeyBank and Yankee Trails to come forward and make the holiday season very special for two families", said CFO of Twill Jer Halloran.
